Newport-Mesa Unified trustees Tuesday made appointments to four top posts. Tom Antal, an assistant principal in Huntington Beach, was appointed principal of Estancia High School in Costa Mesa. Arthur Rowland, a principal in Saddleback Valley, was appointed director of human resources and will oversee all the district’s teachers. Steven Gyler was appointed director of educational technology. Jaime Castellanos, a high school principal, was appointed assistant superintendent of secondary education, succeeding retiring Assistant Supt. Tom Jacobson.
