* Re “Hantavirus Safety Must Take Priority,” Ventura County Perspective, June 20.
I support the effort of Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) to ensure the safety of visitors to the Channel Islands National Park. It is, after all, a highly visible centerpiece for Ventura County and the national park system.
The public needs to be fully aware of the risk of hantavirus infection and any countermeasures being taken by the National Park Service to resolve the problem.
