* A “Basics of Business” workshop for people interested in being self-employed will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Gold Coast Small Business Development Center, 5700 Ralston St., Suite 310, Ventura.
Topics will include characteristics of entrepreneurs and steps to take in starting a business.
This is the first of four seminars. The cost is $15 for one seminar or $12.50 each when enrolling for the series. Make reservations at 658-2688.
* A consultants support group meeting will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Gold Coast Small Business Development Center.
