Transient Apparently Beaten to Death

The body of a 37-year-old transient who was reportedly beaten to death was discovered Sunday morning in an alley west of the 7000 block of Alabama Street in Canoga Park.
Police said a friend identified the victim as Francisco Mateo Villareal of Canoga Park.
“He died of what appear to be multiple blunt-force trauma injuries to the head,” said Det. Rick Swanston of the West Valley Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
No witnesses and no suspects had been identified.
