The city’s Juvenile Justice Center recently received the state’s Youth Authority “Distinguished Program” award for its youth crime-fighting efforts. The center was designed to address an anticipated increase in youth-related crime. The center works closely with the Police Department Youth Services Unit, the city’s Boys and Girls Club, probation officers and the city’s job training program.
