Harvard-Westlake 14, Chaminade 4--Playing in their first varsity match, John Rubenstein and Greg Sher swept at No. 3 doubles for Harvard-Westlake, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, in a Mission League match at Chaminade.
VOLLEYBALL
Monroe d. Grant, 15-12, 15-9, 12-15, 15-12--Jose Sanchez had 13 kills and 11 blocks for the host Vikings (4-0, 1-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match.
Ryan Diaz had 20 kills for Grant (3-1, 0-1).
Harvard-Westlake d. Chaminade, 15-0, 15-6, 15-7--Jon Katz had six kills for the Wolverines (4-1, 3-0) in a Mission League match at Chaminade.
Camarillo d. Hueneme, 15-13, 15-7, 15-4--Josh Kohlmeier had 13 kills and four aces, Donald Young contributed 11 blocks and the Scorpions (3-1, 1-0) won a Pacific View League match at Hueneme.
Camarillo’s Chris Kang had 20 assists and four aces.
TRACK AND FIELD
Chadwick Invitational--Josh Levy of Campbell Hall cleared 6-7 to win the high jump and leaped 20-0 to win the long jump at Cal Sate Dominguez Hills.
Harvard-Westlake 62, Louisville 54--Becky Rauth won the 100-meter high hurdles (15.7 seconds), the 300 low hurdles (46.5) and the long jump (16-1) and the Wolverines won a Mission League meet at Harvard-Westlake.
Louisville’s Kim Utterson won the 800 (2:34.8), 1,600 (5:51.2) and 3,200 (12:43.2).
GOLF
Harvard-Westlake 200, Brentwood 200--David Hansen birdied the first hole at Hansen Dam Golf Course to defeat Brad Shaw in a sudden-death playoff and give the Wolverines (2-0) a nonleague victory.
Hansen shot a one-under-par 35 over nine holes in regulation play.
