The City Council on Monday unanimously approved construction of an enclosed channel along Coyote Creek. The $2.2-million project, just east of Harbor Boulevard between Whittier and La Habra boulevards, is expected to be finished by next winter. The council had previously approved lining the channel’s sides with concrete but decided to fully enclose the channel instead after discovering that it would be cheaper and was also preferred by nearby residents.
