A group of people sitting inside a bar disarmed a 23-year-old man who had walked inside the business with a loaded gun and pointed it at a patron, police said Monday.
The owner of Roger’s Cafe, in the 1000 block of Mountain View Avenue in Oxnard, and several customers disarmed and detained Jorge Enrique Rincon Cervantes on Sunday during the 7:10 p.m. incident, said police, who arrested him.
The gun Cervantes carried into the bar had been stolen, and police found a second firearm inside his car, which was parked at the business, Oxnard Police Officer Erik Mora said.
Cervantes, an Oxnard resident, remained in Ventura County Jail on Monday night on $20,000 bail.
