* Citigroup Inc. said it named J. Eric Daniels, a Citibank veteran of more than 20 years, chief executive and president of its Travelers Life and Annuity unit. Daniels fills a position vacated last year by Michael A. Carpenter, who was promoted to co-chief executive of Citigroup’s combined investment and commercial banking business after former President James Dimon was asked to leave by his boss and former mentor, co-Chairman Sanford Weill.
