Brian O’Neal, a 21-year-resident and community volunteer, was chosen Tuesday to be the newest City Council member. O’Neal fills the unexpired term of Eva Miner Bradford, who resigned to become a Mormon missionary in Arizona. O’Neal takes office April 6; his term expires Nov. 16, 2000. Five people applied for the vacant seat. O’Neal was not present for the special council session because he had a previously scheduled vacation, but sent a letter to the council, along with his resume, that was read at the meeting. The vote was 3 to 1, with Paul Walker dissenting.
