Westlake Deals Newbury Park 2-1 Setback

Cory Taillon’s two-out, run-scoring single in the fourth inning gave Westlake High a 2-1 Marmonte League baseball victory over Newbury Park on Wednesday at Westlake.
Tyler Adamcyzk doubled home the tying run for Westlake (5-0-1, 1-0 in league play) earlier in the inning.
Mike Alba (2-0) pitched a four-hitter, struck out three and retired the last nine batters for the Warriors.
Tyler Johnson threw a four-hitter, with 10 strikeouts and two walks, for Newbury Park (5-2, 0-2), No. 10 in The Times’ regional rankings.
Simi Valley 6, Agoura 5--Brandon Palomarez’s second two-run home run, with one out in the seventh, gave the Pioneers a Marmonte League victory at Simi Valley.
Palomarez added a run-scoring double and had five RBIs for Simi Valley (4-4, 1-1).
Agoura is 7-3, 0-2.
Lancaster 6, Highland 3--Eric Sundberg hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the fifth inning and the Eagles (7-3, 2-0) went on to win a Golden League game at Lancaster.
Josh Elizondo allowed one hit in two innings and picked up his first save in relief of Steve Payte (2-1).
Payte gave up three earned runs, six hits and five walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Jason Allec hit two leadoff doubles for Highland (7-2, 2-1).
Palmdale 15, Quartz Hill 12--Matt Plante hit a grand slam and a three-run home run for the the the Falcons (5-3, 1-1) in a Golden League game at Quartz Hill that featured 11 home runs.
Travis Allen hit two two-run home runs for Quartz Hill (2-6, 1-1).
St. Bonaventure 10, Thacher 0--Sophomore left-hander Gilbert Infante pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Seraphs in a nonleague game at St. Bonaventure.
Eric Leija had a double, single and three RBIs for St. Bonaventure (4-4).
Moorpark 8, Calabasas 0--Justin Thomas (2-0) struck out 11 and pitched a five-hitter for the Musketeers in a nonleague game at Calabasas (4-5).
Wes Rasmussen hit a two-run home run and a run-scoring double for Moorpark (5-3).
Riverside Notre Dame 6, Oak Park 3--Freshman Blake Nelson hit a solo home run in the second but the Eagles (2-2) fell in a nonleague game at Oak Park.
