Micro Therapeutics Inc.’s directors have approved a “poison pill” plan aimed at thwarting any hostile takeover attempt.
The Irvine-based company, which makes minimally-invasive medical devices for diagnosing and treating vascular diseases, said Thursday it is not aware of any such attempts.
Under the plan, shareholders will receive rights to purchase a larger stake in the company if a person or group acquires more than a 20% stake in Micro Therapeutics.
