ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives were investigating a possible homicide Thursday after a search team located a woman’s body in a car 500 feet off Angeles Crest Highway, authorities said.
The body of the unidentified woman was found around 9 p.m. inside the car, which apparently had plunged down a steep ravine about 30 miles north of La Canada Flintridge, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Norine Plett.
“Based on information that deputies received from a tip, they went to investigate a vehicle over the side of Angeles Crest highway,” Plett said.
Authorities were being assisted by Montrose Search and Rescue team members, she said.
