With the flip of a calendar page, it’s October, and time for “freak previews” of that spooky Southland tradition, Knott’s Berry Farm’s Halloween Haunt, which opens for real next week. The 27th annual edition again will be hosted by the queen of camp, Elvira, and will feature the usual bounty of mazes, frighteningly redecorated rides and elaborately costumed ghouls and monsters running amok through the Buena Park theme park.
* Knott’s Berry Farm, 8039 Beach Blvd., Buena Park. 7 p.m.-2 a.m. tonight. $25-$27. Opens Oct. 8; ends Oct. 31. Not recommended for children younger than 13. $35-$40. (714) 849-2344.
