Whatever Mask You Wear, This Store Probably Has It

For those who want authentic and inexpensive costumes for Halloween, now is the time to get it together, and It’s a Wrap is just the place to do it.

Owner Tiara Hallman has been building the costume department for months. Most of the offerings are custom-made, which sets them apart from the fare of most costume stores while adding an air of authenticity.

Maids are always a popular dress-up request for reasons that remain a mystery to me, but if you must, a French maid’s dress with white eyelet trim made for “All My Children” is perfect and it’s just $15. We checked one costume store that wanted $35 to $40 for something similar but not nearly as nice.

From “Scream 2” you may remember the black cape outfits, and here they’ve got the cape for $25 to toss over a leotard or whatever. For the same price, some cobalt blue vinyl coveralls achieve an ultra-outer-space look.

The little ones will love the custom-made Barney costumes from “Baby Geniuses,” which are $25. Teenage guys would probably go for the suits, hand-painted with neon colors, from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” Dazzling for $65.

Madeline, Zorro, Gatsby, Patch Adams, Harvey. Pick one of your favorites and go for it. The more creative you are, the more fun you’ll have in the costume department on the mezzanine.

Weekend Supersale There’s a grand opening sale at the new Designer’s Showcase, where the inventory consists of unique statuary, garden and home accessories. Small fountains that are regularly $110 are $55, wrought iron candleholders are slashed all the way to $15.95 from $55 and some imported lamps that usually sell for $65 are $39.
