The City Council will hold a public hearing on the Rancho Road street improvement project, after residents protested a plan that would cost corner lot homeowners up to $3,000 and other residents as much as $531 for sidewalks.
The new sidewalks are part of a project to improve streets in the area. While street paving, widening, curbs and gutters are funded by the city, homeowners will have to pay for the sidewalks, estimated to cost $127,000.
The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the next council meeting, Council Chambers, 8200 Westminster Blvd.
