Police are investigating a wave of broken windows at local businesses, apparently shot at with BB and paint pellet guns or a slingshot, Sgt. Jim Perry said.
“This type of crime comes and goes,” Perry said. “‘It’s tough to protect an entire window, but the more well-lit your business is, the less likely it is to be a victim of crime.”
The window of Abba Antiques, 11210 Talbert Ave., was damaged with a paint pellet or BB gun sometime before 7:44 a.m. Saturday. Two windows, worth about $1,000, were shattered with a BB gun at Martial Arts Academy, 18595 Brookhurst St., at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. An unknown blunt object was used to smash the front window of Hobby Shack, 18480 Bandilier Circle, discovered at 8:04 a.m. Sunday. And Ardent Realty’s window, 17330 Brookhurst St., was shot out with a slingshot or pellet gun.
