Ice Dogs Fall to Aeros, 6-2

HOUSTON — After two road victories in Kansas City, the Long Beach Ice Dogs lost to the defending Turner Cup champion Houston Aeros, 6-2, Monday.
Wes Walz scored both Ice Dog goals.
Houston opened up with two power-play goals before Walz got Long Beach on the board at 7:49 of the second period.
After two more Houston goals, Mike O’Neill replaced Marcel Cousineau in goal for the Ice Dogs at 11:33 of the second period, but the damage had been done.
The Ice Dogs, now 5-5 in the Western Conference, saw their winning streak end at two. Houston is now 4-3.
