Democratic presidential candidates Al Gore and Bill Bradley will debate tonight for the first time in a town hall meeting that CNN will broadcast live. The Republican field, except George W. Bush, will gather Thursday for a similar forum, which CNN also will carry from Hanover, N.H.
Both hourlong debates are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PDT. CNN and New Hampshire’s WMUR-TV are sponsoring the debates, which will take place at Dartmouth College, co-sponsor of the events.
