In the Sunset League:
Marina 3, Santa Ana 1--Santa Ana held a 1-0 first-half lead, but a goal by Rachel Benniger and two by Melissa Shuck in the second half gave Marina (9-4) the victory. Santa Ana fell to 3-7-2.
In Orange League girls’ golf:
Valencia 104, Savanna 143--Valencia’s Nikki Glowin was the medalist with a one-over 30 at Brea Golf Course. Host Valencia (17-0, 8-0) won the league championship for the second consecutive year.
In the Pacific Coast League:
No. 1 University 118, Corona del Mar 137--Sophomore Angela Won birdied the first, sixth and eighth holes on her way to a career-low two-under 34 for University (14-0, 6-0) at Strawberry Farms.
In the Sea View League:
No. 2 Newport Harbor 132, No. 6 Woodbridge 143--Sophomore Kelly Hunt birdied the second and eighth holes and had four pars on her way to a 1-over 37 to lead Newport Harbor at Big Canyon. The Sailors (15-0, 8-0) clinched the Sea View League championship.
In the Serra League:
Santa Margarita 125, Bishop Montgomery 131--Brenda Progar had six consecutive pars, leading the Eagles at Coto de Caza South. Progar was medalist with a three-over 39. Freshman Alexis Etow added a season-best 44. The Eagles (10-5, 5-2) clinched a playoff berth with the victory.
In Garden Grove League girls’ tennis:
La Quinta 10, Pacifica 8--Sisters Hanh Hoang and Hien Hoang won two of their three doubles sets for La Quinta (6-7, 4-7). Kim Tran swept her singles sets, losing only one game for Pacifica (10-3, 7-3).
Brea Olinda 16, Valencia 5--Kelly Scanlan and Annie James each swept in singles and together in doubles to help Brea Olinda (16-3, 9-0) win its fourth straight league championship.
In the Serra League:
No. 3 Mater Dei 18, Torrance Bishop Montgomery 0--Melissa Esmero and Mary Hung swept their doubles sets without losing a game for Mater Dei (12-4, 6-0). The Monarchs lost only 12 games.
