College Offering a Taste of Opera

Ventura College will offer two performances of “Opera and More for the Young” this weekend.
The college’s opera workshop will perform songs and scenes from well-known operas and musicals, including “The Magic Flute,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Madame Butterfly” and “Rent.”
For the last several weeks, college students have been performing the show in local schools.
The performances are at 7:30 tonight and 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ventura College Theatre. Tickets cost $12 for general admission, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for children and students.
