Wide receiver Calvin Bell of Simi Valley has not transferred to Newbury Park, despite persistent rumors during the summer.

“I’ve been accused of everything from writing recruiting letters to taking kids to dinner to being the second gunman on a grassy knoll in Dallas,” Coach George Hurley of Newbury Park said.

Mike Bresnahan previously covered the Lakers for the Los Angeles Times.
