From Times Wire Reports
A jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for a Tampa, Fla., man who was convicted of killing a 7-year-old girl, even though her body was never found. The jury favored execution for Willie Crain for the 1998 murder of Amanda Brown rather than life in prison. The jury found Crain, 53, guilty Monday. The final decision will be up to the judge, but she is required to give great weight to the jury’s recommendation. Amanda disappeared Sept. 11, 1998, two days after her mother, Kathy Hartman, met Crain in a bar.
