SHERMAN OAKS — No foul play is suspected in the death of a 2-year-old girl who fell from a third-floor window Sunday night, police said.
Rachel Beniaminova was playing in her bedroom in an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Mary Ellen Avenue, police said, when she apparently climbed onto a piece of furniture and fell out the window.
She was rushed by ambulance to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, where she died a short time later.
Both parents were in the apartment when she fell, said Det. Howard Beardsley of the Los Angeles Police Department.
“At this time, the incident appears to be accidental with no foul play involved,” detectives said Monday in a written statement.
The investigation is still under investigation pending an autopsy report scheduled for today or Wednesday, Beardsley said.
