Re “Missouri Balks at Letting KKK ‘Adopt-a-Highway,’ ” Sept. 28: Attention, Ku Klux Klan. I am white, Christian and American, and your abhorrent racism does not in any way reflect my values or, for that matter, Christian values.
Perhaps it is a lack of knowledge among the general public about what the Bible really says that allows the perception of “racist Christian identity philosophy” to persist. Although it has at times been sadly misinterpreted, the Bible in no way promotes or condones racial or ethnic hatred or discrimination. Jesus was, after all, a Jew.
The Klan needs to clean up its own act before it busies itself cleaning the public highways.
