SALT LAKE CITY — The Long Beach Ice Dogs were stunned by a last-second goal in a 3-2 loss to the Utah Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
With the game all but wrapped up and heading into a shootout, Utah’s Brad Lauer put the puck past Nikolai Khabibulin with three seconds to play.
The loss takes some playoff control away from the Ice Dogs, who now have to count on at least one Houston Aero loss to secure third place in the West and a first-round playoff bye.
