Montes Throws Off Reseda

Ryane Montes pitched a five-hitter and struck out 11 for Kennedy High in a 4-0 Valley Mission League victory over Reseda on Tuesday at Brand Park.
Monique Acedo and Kristin Cookson hit run-scoring doubles for Kennedy (14-3, 5-0 in league play).
San Fernando 14, Van Nuys 1--Olga Hernandez had two hits and drove in four runs for the Tigers in a Valley Mission League game at Van Nuys.
Michelle Raigoza added two hits and two RBIs for San Fernando (16-3, 4-1).
Thousand Oaks 5, Newbury Park 0--Nicole Angelo pitched a four-hitter with six strikeouts for the Lancers in a Marmonte League game at Thousand Oaks.
Sheridan Fowler had a triple, an RBI and scored twice for Thousand Oaks (11-2-1, 8-0).
Westlake 1, Royal 0--Erin Voeltz pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Warriors (9-5, 6-2) in a Marmonte League victory at Westlake.
Highland 8, Palmdale 1--Nicole Rawson pitched a three-hitter with two strikeouts for the Bulldogs in a Golden League game at Palmdale.
Angie D’Errico had double, a triple, an RBI and scored twice for Highland (7-7, 0-1).
Quartz Hill 10, Littlerock 1--Amanda Ricker and Amber Hilblom combined on a two-hitter with nine strikeouts for the Rebels (10-5) in a Golden League victory at Quartz Hill.
La Reina 10, Carpinteria 0--Freshman KC Robertson threw a two-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Regents (9-4, 4-0) in a Tri-Valley League game at Carpinteria that was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
La Canada 15, Monrovia 0--Lauren Guza fired a six-inning two-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk for the Spartans in a Rio Hondo League game at Monrovia (3-8, 0-6) that was called because of the 10-run rule.
Heather Fowlie had three hits and four RBIs, including a run-scoring double, and Noreen Jue had three hits and three RBIs for the Spartans (6-5, 5-0).
Montclair Prep 11, Campbell Hall 1--Monique Lovell pitched her third no-hitter of the season and struck out 13 for the Mounties in a Delphic League game that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule at Campbell Hall.
Lovell also had a double, two RBIs and scored twice for the Mounties (10-2, 2-0).
Village Christian 10, Pasadena Marshall 0--Jessica McIntosh pitched the first no-hitter of her career in an Alpha League game at Village Christian that was halted in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.
McIntosh (5-4) struck out 10 and walked one.
Robin Pearce hit a three-run home run in the first inning for Village Christian (8-4, 1-0).
Providence 15, Windward 4--Chrissy Koeth pitched a four-hitter with six strikeouts and sister Candy Koeth had a double, three RBIs and scored twice for the Pioneers (7-5, 2-0) in a Liberty League game at Windward called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
