In second-round games of the Michelle Carew Softball Classic:
Canyon 9, Rowland Heights Rowland 0 (6, mercy)--Lindsey Klabacha pitched a five-hitter and Amber Boeg had a double, single and three RBIs for Canyon (14-8).
The Comanches play Los Alamitos at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Peralta Park in a quarterfinal game.
El Dorado 6, Villa Park 0--Kristi Durant hit a fourth-inning grand slam and Kristen Karanzias threw a one-hitter for El Dorado (11-5-1). The Golden Hawks will play Esperanza Monday.
Esperanza 1, Simi Valley 0--Kristen Dedmon singled in Molly Denkler in the fourth inning and pitched the shutout with eight strikeouts for Esperanza (14-4).
Los Alamitos 7, Century 0--Kim Dillon pitched a one-hitter without allowing a walk and Mackenzie Deleon had a double and three RBIs for Los Alamitos (12-5).
Orange Lutheran 4, Long Beach Wilson 0--Tiffany Worthy hit a solo home run for Orange Lutheran (16-4-1). Reliever Lauren Miklos (9-2) struck out eight in four innings to earn the win.
Rosary 1, Norco 0--Natalie Golda drove in the winning run in the top of the first inning with two out for Rosary (17-5). Golda had two home runs in a first-round game against Valencia, which lost, 7-1.
Villa Park 2, Temescal Canyon 1--Jill Sandoval hit a double in the second inning for Villa Park (7-11).
