Aeromexico now flies twice a week from LAX to Guaymas, Mexico, a town on the Gulf of California known for its deep-sea fishing, before continuing to La Paz. Officials said it is the only scheduled service to Guaymas (other airlines also serve La Paz). Restricted round-trip fares start at $278 for Guaymas and $224 for La Paz. Reservations: (800) 237-6639. . . . Starting Monday, a $1-per-person admission fee will be charged at Diamond Head State Monument on Oahu in Hawaii. The site, which offers a panoramic view of the coast and draws more than 1 million visitors a year, had previously been free of charge. There are also plans to assess a vehicle charge, but no date has been set. . . . A new guidebook published by the British consumer magazine Holiday Which? has ranked Buckingham Palace among Britain’s worst historical sites for visitors. The palace has a “sterile atmosphere” and “expensive” guidebooks, it said, adding: “If you’re expecting an insight into the life and times of the royal family, you’re likely to be severely disappointed.” A palace spokesman called the comments “surprising” and at odds with the palace’s own visitor surveys.
