A 53-year-old Long Beach man was found dead Wednesday night in a channel off Huntington Harbour after a boater spotted him floating face down, authorities said.
Huntington Beach Police Lt. Clyde Stuart said the victim, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was discovered at 10:40 p.m. near a residential-commercial area. Stuart said the man apparently drowned in that area and that foul play is not suspected.
Several people have drowned in or near that channel, the largest side channel flowing into Huntington Harbor, Stuart said.
The investigation was continuing.
