IRS Plans Move to New Office

The Internal Revenue Service is moving its Ventura County office from Oxnard to Camarillo so it can be closer to east county residents.
The current office, at 2500 Financial Square, will close Friday. The new office, at 751 Daily Drive, Suite 100, is scheduled to open Aug. 14.
“Our lease was up and we have been having more taxpayers from the east end,” said Chips Maurer, a spokesman for the IRS.
“We wanted to be closer to them without going over the hill, and Camarillo was an upgrade for us.”
The IRS spent 28 years at its Oxnard location, the only site the agency maintained in the county. Eighty employees work within the collection, criminal investigation and examination departments. The IRS also has offices in Van Nuys and Santa Barbara.
