Re “An Ominous Upturn in L.A. Gang Violence Raises the Question Anew: Why?” Aug. 14:
Gang deaths increase 131% so far this year. Somebody said, “You have to fight fire with fire.”
Sure: A few overzealous Rampart bad guys are going to jail for a while. But now a lot more young kids have to be buried six feet under forever. Is this a good trade?
