School Bus Crash Kills 1, Injures Many

A bus packed with children overturned within sight of their elementary school in Herndon, killing a 5-year-old kindergartner. More than 30 other children and the bus driver were taken to hospitals near the southwestern Kentucky town; most were treated and released. State Trooper Chuck Robertson said the bus apparently ran off the shoulder of the road and that the driver over-corrected, sending the bus across both lanes before it overturned. The dead boy, Tyler Powers, apparently was ejected from the bus.
