JOSH HEUPEL
Quarterback, Oklahoma
In his final push toward the Heisman Trophy, Heupel didn’t do anything to make the decision easier. He completed 24 of 44 passes for 220 yards with two touchdowns, but had three interceptions in a 27-24 victory over Kansas State.

CHRIS WEINKE
Quarterback, Florida State
Because Heupel didn’t do enough to solidify his case the last two weeks, Weinke may have emerged as the leading candidate. Weinke looked strong to close the regular season, which should make voters forget the times earlier this season when he may have looked average.

Next: Oklahoma, Orange Bowl, Jan. 3

DREW BREES
Quarterback, Purdue
Brees figures to, at the very least, land an invitation to New York for Saturday’s ceremony, although his chances to take home the trophy are slim. The only thing in his favor is the wide-open nature of the race.
Season: 286 of 473, 3,393 yards, 24 TDs
Next: Washington, Rose Bowl, Jan. 1
