Turner Takes Gavel as City’s New Mayor

Dr. Robert E. Turner was sworn in Wednesday night as Port Hueneme’s new mayor, a position that rotates among City Council members.
Turner, a dentist, jokingly equated the ceremonial title with being Port Hueneme’s “official greeter.”
He served as mayor from 1995 to 1996.
Councilman Anthony Volante was named mayor pro tem.
