No. 7 Huntington Beach 7, Corona del Mar 0--Alejandro Guzman had two goals and freshman Marco Martinez scored his first varsity goal for host Huntington Beach (5-0).
Laguna Hills 1, No. 10 Capistrano Valley 1--Paul Jimenez scored on an assist from Chris Turner for Laguna Hills (2-1-3). Brent Barnes scored for Capistrano Valley (7-0-1).
In the Mater Dei girls’ soccer tournament:
No. 1 Capistrano Valley 4, Atascadero 1--Freshman Kim Horn scored two goals and Ashley Casas and Laura Greenberg each scored one to help the Cougars (2-1) rebound from their first-round loss to Arcadia.
No. 4 Esperanza 3, Ventura Buena 3--Erin Clewett scored two goals and Gina Salinas had one as the Aztecs (2-0-3) tied the defending Division II champions.
No. 2 Aliso Niguel 2, San Diego University 0--Kim Devine and Stacy Lindstrom each scored a goal.
No. 6 Mission Viejo 8, Huntington Beach 0--The Diablos (2-0-1) got two goals each from Kendall Billingsley, Lindsay Huie, Jen Thais and Stacey Mescher.
