* Best Buy Co. said profit fell 27% in its fiscal third quarter to $57.3 million, or 27 cents a share, as the electronics retailer slashed prices to compete with rivals and faced higher expenses. The results met analyst forecasts that had been lowered last month after the company warned of lower profit for the last half of the year. Revenue rose 20% to $3.7 billion.
* Aetna Inc. must pay $1.85 million to a group of managed-care consultants who said they were muscled out of a agreement to oversee a pharmacy chain’s health plan, a federal appeals court ruled. The Philadelphia-based appeals court’s ruling last week upheld a jury’s verdict that executives at Aetna’s U.S. Healthcare unit wrongfully interfered with an agreement between I Got It At Gary’s, a small pharmacy chain, and Brokerage Concepts Inc., which managed the chain’s health plan.
