Decision on Police Retrials Is Delayed

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has delayed until Tuesday releasing her decision on whether three LAPD officers will get new trials.
Judge Jacqueline Connor is considering whether to grant new trials for Sgts. Edward Ortiz and Brian Liddy and Officer Michael Buchanan. The officers were convicted Nov. 15 of conspiring to frame gang members, but the defense contends that they deserve new trials based on a series of problems, including a mistake on a computer report that misled jurors.
