Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who tried to kidnap a jogger Sunday morning.
Investigators said there is no connection between the Oak View incident and the Friday kidnapping and beating of a Ventura woman outside the school where she works.
About 8:50 a.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old woman reported she was jogging near Burnham and Santa Ana roads when a man got out of his vehicle and grabbed her, said Sgt. Mike Johnson of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. The woman broke free as a motorist drove past, and the would-be kidnapper drove off.
Officials would not release a description of the attacker or the car he was driving.
In the Friday assault, a 51-year-old cafeteria worker kidnapped outside Balboa Middle School remained in stable condition at Ventura County Medical Center on Sunday, a nursing supervisor said. Her attacker, described as a man in his mid-20s to early 30s, with a mustache and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, remained at large.
