Concert to Feature Young Musicians

Barry Silverman will conduct the Aliso Viejo Symphony in a “Young Stars of the Future” program at 8 p.m. Jan. 28 at Lake Hills Community Church, 23331 Moulton Parkway in Laguna Hills. Featured soloist will be Japanese marimba player Makoto Nakura, 29, who was a 1994 Young Concert Artists International Auditions winner. Four other soloists, winners of the orchestra’s first “Young Stars of the Future Performance Competition,” also will perform. General admission is $15; $12 for students and seniors. A shorter program for children will be given at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at the church. Tickets are $10. (714) 731-8079.
