An independent credit-analysis firm has awarded the city government its second-highest grade for credit worthiness.
Standard & Poor’s, which rates corporate and public finances, gave San Clemente a grade of AA-, just one level below its strongest grade, AAA.
The grade measures the city’s ability to maintain financial health, taking into consideration the city’s income levels, financial management system and debt.
The grade rates San Clemente’s financial future and ability to pay its debts as “very strong.”
