EMachines Names Dickinson Senior VP

John Dickinson has been named senior vice president and general manager of the Internet unit of Irvine-based EMachines Inc. EMachines, which provides personal computers and software distribution services, said Dickinson will manage its Internet business operations, product development, business development and marketing. Dickinson previously served as vice president and corporate editorial director for closely held Freedom Technology Media Group. He succeeds Donald S. LaVigne, former chief executive of Free-PC, which EMachines acquired in January. LaVigne plans to leave EMachines to pursue other interests, the company said.
