The City Council may reconsider its vote to chop down 25 mature jacaranda trees lining Rose Drive and Bastanchury Road.
Councilman Henry W. Wedaa will bring the issue back for council members to reconsider Tuesday night. The council had voted 3 to 1 last month to remove the trees after 24 of 25 neighbors complained that the leaves and flowers littered their yards and choked spa filters.
Wedaa, who was absent at that meeting, said he is against chopping down the jacarandas. “I’ve had so many people tell me they’re very concerned about these trees being cut down,” he said.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chamber at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
