City officials joined hundreds of county residents Monday to raise money for Aliso Viejo’s incorporation drive at the second annual Cityhood 2000 Golf Tournament.
Even though Laguna Hills has waged a tug of war with the community over portions of its land, City Manager Bruce Channing was one of four officials who traded in his suit and tie for a funny straw hat and shorts to show some leg out on the Aliso Viejo Golf Course.
“We very much support the Aliso Viejo incorporation efforts,” Channing said. “That was certainly part of the message we hoped to communicate. Obviously, we may disagree over what should be included in those boundaries, but that’s part of the process.”
