Missing Museum Piece

In a recent excellent review of the University Art Museum at UC Santa Barbara, Christopher Knight neglected to mention Marla C. Berns, the museum’s art director, without whose incredible energetic effort the renovation would never have been possible (“Tradition Maintained, Altered,” May 26).

She not only oversaw each and every detail of the architecture, interior design, landscaping and myriad other important tasks that are necessary for a complete renovation, but also found time during her personal hours to meet with and woo prospective donors whose contributions were necessary to complete the extensive remodeling.
