JAMMU, India — A bus plunged into a gorge in northern India on Sunday, killing at least 27 Indian soldiers and injuring more than 20.
Police said they feared that a total of 32 soldiers had died in the accident, which occurred in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
A senior police official said the driver lost control and skidded off the road when the brakes failed as he negotiated a bend near Ramban, 110 miles east of Jammu, the state’s winter capital.
