Santa Maria Man Killed in 2-Car Crash

SIMI VALLEY — A Santa Maria man was killed and another man injured in an accident caused by an alleged drunk driver, authorities said.
Isaac Raymond Martinez, 21, of Santa Maria was driving west on Cochran Street about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when he failed to stop for a red light at Erringer Road and was hit by a vehicle driven by Tom King, 37, of Simi Valley, police said.
Martinez’s passenger, 29-year-old Joe Guzman of Santa Maria, was rushed to Simi Valley Hospital, where he died of massive head and neck injuries, police said.
King was also taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated for a broken shoulder and pain in his upper body.
Martinez is being held without bail at Ventura County Jail on suspicion of drunk driving and manslaughter.
