For $100, residents or business owners can sponsor a city flag and choose one of many light poles to post it. It’s all part of the Adopt-A-Flag program, the city’s attempt to line local streets with flags during major holidays.
The idea behind the project, which began in 1982, is to have a flag at every light pole in the city. But to date, the goal still hasn’t been achieved. Organizers are making an extra attempt to get sponsors for the program.
