Conference Tournament, Award Named for Haskins

This year’s Western Athletic Conference tournament will be dedicated to retired Texas El Paso coach Don Haskins and the conference’s award for men’s coach of the year will bear his name, Commissioner Karl Benson announced.
Haskins, who retired in 1999 after 37 years as coach at Texas El Paso, won a national championship with the Miners in 1966 and had a 719-353 record.
