* Genicom Corp., which makes high-performance printers, including those used to produce airline tickets, filed for Chapter 11 protection from its creditors after failing to make required loan payments. “It is the company’s intention in the near future [to solicit] proposals to purchase the company’s business in whole or part,” the Chantilly, Va.-based company said. Its shares closed up 31 cents at 51 cents in over-the-counter trading.
